Legacy School is a uniform school. We want the uniform to be easy and comfortable and we do not want to spend precious academic time enforcing the dress code. We ask parents to help their children be responsible for their grooming and dress standards. Brightly colored hair (such as red or blue) or extreme hairstyles (such as Mohawks or spikes), will not be accepted. Accessories may not be vulgar, obscene, occult, gothic or drug related. No body piercing except minimal earrings. No bare midriff styles. School uniforms are as follows.

BOYS:
Shirts: Polo-type shirts with the school logo on them (in navy blue, white or red). Shirts are available for sale in the school office.
Pants: *Plain navy blue or Khaki pants or walking shorts (with no decoration). No blue jeans, biker shorts or athletic-type pants. No sagging or baggy pants.
Shoes: Closed-toe shoes only (no sandals, slip-ons, flip flops or sling-back shoes). Socks must be worn.
Outerwear: Jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts or any other article of clothing worn as outerwear must be *Plain navy, white or gray. No logos or ornamentation.

GIRLS:
Shirts: Polo-type shirts with the school logo on them (in navy blue, white or red). Shirts are available for sale in the school office.
Pants/Skirts: *Plain navy blue or Khaki slacks, skirts, skorts, walking shorts, capris or jumpers (with no decoration). No blue jeans, dance pants, athletic-type pants or biker shorts. Cotton and Polyester knit are okay.
Shoes: Closed-toe shoes only (no sandals, extreme platforms, sling-back, flip flops or open-backed shoes). Socks must be worn.
Outerwear: Jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts or any other article of clothing worn as outerwear must be *Plain navy, white or gray. No logos or ornamentation.

*Plain means that there is no embroidery, decoration, stripes, contrasting color or glitter on the clothing.

Note: Plain, long-sleeved, navy blue, white or red shirts may be worn under the uniform shirt.

Clothes are to be kept clean, without frayed edges or holes at all times. Students wearing shorts, skirts, jumpers or skorts that are above finger-tip length will be asked to change.

FRIDAYS are “dress-down” days and students will be allowed to wear *plain, nice denim jeans or jean shorts (no grubbies or saggers) and School T-shirts with our Legacy Lion logo. T-shirts may be purchased at the front desk to wear on Fridays, and on some field trips. The regular school uniform may also be worn on Fridays.

If a student is not in the school uniform they are in direct violation of school policy. The student will be taught what the proper dress code is and his/her parents will be notified to bring appropriate clothing. Continued violations will be referred to an administrator for discussion and action (possible suspension).
