Mr. Meyers
Welcome to physical education class! I am very excited to be teaching physical education my first year here at Legacy Schools. I recently moved over this summer to Arizona from Holland, Michigan. While residing in Michigan, I attended Western Michigan University, where I received with honors a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, focusing on being a physical and health education teacher. After graduating in 2008, I became a full-time substitute teacher within area school districts near my hometown in Michigan before coming to Legacy.
My teaching philosophy is to provide every student a safe and appropriate physical education environment in which every student will learn to live a healthy and active lifestyle. It’s my dedication to offer every student a great physical education experience by offering students a variety of traditional and non-traditional sports and activities, in which each student will learn to enjoy being physically active.
I am also coaching football in addition to teaching physical education at Legacy Schools. I have coached baseball and football over the last five years in Michigan ranging from the youth levels to the varsity level. I strongly believe that having an academically sound athlete as well as having an athletically sound athlete is the key to having successful individuals after their playing days are completed. When I am not teaching or coaching, I enjoy traveling and exploring new cultures and customs. To date, I have traveled abroad in eleven countries throughout Europe. I also enjoy the outdoors, bicycling, and spending time with family and friends.
I can be contacted at (480) 981-2008 or send an e-mail. Also, feel free to stop by and offer any questions, comments, or concerns about your child’s participation or progress in physical education.
