A Core Knowledge® School
My husband and I moved to Gilbert, Arizona in July 2003 from New Hampshire. Soon after we moved, I found Legacy Elementary School, or I should say Legacy found me. I desperately wanted to be a part of the Legacy family that I took whatever jobs I could. I was an aide in second grade, drove the bus, monitored recess, taught preschool, and taught middle school art and drama. My second year, I taught half day kindergarten and taught several middle school and high school fine arts electives. My third year, I had the opportunity to teach first grade so I took it. I taught first grade for three years. I was then honored to be asked to be the Site Administrator for the school.
While at Legacy, my daughter Madelyn and my son Peyton were born. I have made wonderful friends here, with both teachers and parents. I am excited to be leading Legacy into the future.
You will find Legacy is committed to your student's individual needs and unique learning styles. Our staff is a part of several different grant initiatives that keep us up to date on new approaches to student learning and creating a positive school environment.
We have 3 rules at Legacy, Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible. We make sure that students know what we expect from them; a strong desire to learn and an equally strong sense of character.
Legacy has an open door policy, as do I. Please feel free to stop in to see what we are doing in the classrooms as well as give me your feedback on your Legacy experience.
